Daft as a Brush

Daft as a Brush

A soft pastel piece on sanded card, I wanted to show the cute and curious side of the fox. A creature that causes so much division. But which I personally am very fond of. sold prints available on request

Giraffe in Purple

Giraffe in Purple

Now who loves a giraffe? This is a beauty I met at the West Midland Safari Park a couple of years ago. I was so disappointed when I got there and they weren’t out. Then as we drove back through their enclosure on the way out, this lovely one spotted me and walked all the way up the hill to make my day Painted here in acrylics on a wooden panel, with a hint of metallic purple and turquoise

Hole in the Tree

Hole in the Tree

An experimental mixed media piece. I have left the tree trunk quite abstract, and heavily textured, but have added a lot of detail to the owl. This will be for sale when the oil paints are dry

Caribbean Flamingos

Caribbean Flamingos

I was inspired to paint these beautiful Caribbean Flamingos after a trip to Birdland in Bourton-on-the-Water. I was taken aback at their stunning salmon pink plumage, much brighter than any of the other species of flamingo that I’d seen before. I loved the way they and danced together in the water. They really looked stunning. Prints available

Native vs Invasive - The Judgement of Squirrels

Native vs Invasive - The Judgement of Squirrels

I always struggle with the concept of favouring one animal over another. I understand the reasons, and agree with many, but everything has a right to life, doesn’t it? This is the fist painting in a series, that will be based on this concept. All featuring the “scales of judgement” Here we have the Red Squirrel vs the grey Squirrel, the red, barely clinging on, whilst the grey sits comfortably, but the scales aren’t tipped in his favour. Limited edition prints available

Bees & Thistles

Bees & Thistles

It was a beautiful day and I felt inspired to create something of the outdoors. Nothing encapsulates British wildlife for me, better than bees and thistles. They are so mesmerising to watch. This is hand painted by myself and will be signed on the front. Original acrylic on stretched canvas measuring 24 cm high x 30 cm wide x 3 cm deep

One For Sorrow

One For Sorrow

Magpies are such beautiful, clever and resourceful birds, is such a shame they get a bad press! Like many successful creatures they are mislabelled as pests, I think people just like to support the underdog! I personally think they are wonderful and this is actually one of my favourite paintings. It was created in 2016, but I have had it hanging on my own wall as I liked it so much. Now I have moved and unfortunately don't have the space to keep it (I know i shouldn't get attached)
