 Large WhiteA peaceful fantail going about his daily business, I love the way fish make everything seem so effortless. I'm very pleased with the contrast between the deep blues and greens of the background and the brightness of the fish. I started with the background and loved the colour and the feeling of depth it gave. I almost left it as an abstract piece, but something told me to be brave and add the fish, which I am so pleased I did.  Cool Of The PoolExpanding on my Pond fish series, " The Cool Of The Pool" has more depth and slightly more detail than some of it's predecessors. I used dark glazes over the brightly coloured pebbles to set them back and provide a strong contrast with the bright colours of the koi. The position and colour of the fish are never planned, so i find great pleasure in watching the painting evolve in front of me. I found a lovely hand carved rustic wooden frame that I think sets the painting off perfectly. |  Fish Pond Table 2Smaller than it's predecessor at 80 cm x 80 cm.
