I generally work from photographs and prefer to come to you and take my own photos, this also gives me a great opportunity to meet you and the subject and get to know their personality and the relationship you have between you. I charge £50 for this service plus 50 pence per mile, if you are very local or can come to me.

 

Alternatively I can use your own shots, but, please make sure your photos are good quality. You may know every inch of your pet or loved one, but I can only paint what I see. Choose an image that shows their individual character and skin tone or fur colour in good lighting conditions and good focus.  Get down on their level to avoid distortion. If the photos are not good enough I will contact you to discuss taking some more. But please be aware for copyright purposes, I cannot work directly from a professional photograph without the photographers permission.

 

If you are looking to commission a portrait as a gift for a loved one, please contact me to discuss your requirements, I am happy to issue gift vouchers if this works out better for you.

Prices below are a guide, for one subject, working from your photos, with a plain or basic background, but please do contact me for an individual quote.

 

 

A4 Pastel Portraits, suitable for smaller subjects and head/face studies. Mounted size approx 11" x 14" £150

 

A3 Pastel portraits, for head/head and shoulder study, sizes (including mount)  16" x  20"  = £225

 

Acrylic on stretched canvas or board, more impressionist style, head study 16" x 20" = £225

 

Oils on stretched canvas or board, either detailed, or impressionist, head and shoulder study 16" x 20"  = £325

Please add 50% for a second subject in the same picture and 25% for third and subsequent subjects

 

I can arrange framing if required but the cost varies wildly depending on your personal choice.

 

Payment is required in full on booking.  We can then arrange a date for a full consultation and photographs and/or sketches (Within a 25 mile radius of GL2). Images will be emailed to you for approval, so I can make any necessary changes before it's collected or delivered

 

I accept, cash, cheque, bankers draft or PayPal and am happy to work out a monthly payment plan if it makes it more affordable.
