Sir David Attenborough
A recent portrait of my hero, Sir David Attenborough.
I piece I have wanted to do for some time, painted here in oils on a wooden panel. Approximately life size at 60 cm x 80 cm
Sir David has always been a huge inspiration to me, from watching him through the years on TV and being lucky enough to meet him at a lecture he presented many years ago in Stroud. I was probably only 10 years old, but I still remember vividly, the tale of his tapeworm experience after eating freshly killed goat!
He has done so much to raise awareness of the plight of our planet and the creatures who live in it. If there were one person I wish would live forever it would be him.
I tried to paint him in a way that you could feel his message, to stop and think. I hope I have achieved that, but for now, I am very pleased with it
